Rafet Na Postcard--DONE!

Tomorrow's my big quilt guild party. I'm not showing the other postcards I made yet until I've given the other two away.

However, I can show the one that I'm keeping. It is of a Senegalese woman wearing her loose robe (a grand boubou) and headwrap. I named it "Rafet na", for the Wolof phrase for "pretty/attractive." My camera's out, so this scan will have to do for now, lol.

That's gorgeous Elle! Is the glittery looking yoke on the boubou done with metallic thread or are those beads? (And how do you say "boubou"? In my head I'm pronouncing it like "booboo", but I'm notorious for getting things wrong when I've only seen them in print and not heard them aloud.)

I like the title too!

OK, I rest my case! You have done something in a very small size that has the impact of a large piece. I think that if you look at a piece of art and imagine it is larger than it actually is - wow - it is good design!!

Deb said it right. They speak French there so it's "grahnd booboo" pronunciation-wise. The title's pronounced "ra-fet nah".
