My hard drive crashed last night and was wiped out. I have spent all day getting my computer running again. AAAIGH.

Lucky for me, I backed up my novels and stories, websites, scanned ancestor photos/genealogy info and quilting stuff on a thumb drive 2 weeks ago. I saw that it was running slow and got paranoid about saving stuff.

I did lose my entire iPod library though. Damn. Now there's something to cry about. 2339 songs. I have all the CDs and backed up bought ones. I'll have to pull it from my iPod itself. I hope they'll all go over. Cross your fingers for me. This sucks!

Weekly backups from here on...I need to do the same thing myself.

Sorry to hear about the crash. I need to backup my stuff over here. I'm putting it on my "to do" list.

Oh man, you're right, that totally sucks. I've had crashes twice in my years of 'puterizing and it's traumatic. (Yet I STILL don't back up my data nearly as often as I should. Oops.)

Sorry you had to deal with that, Elle.

I just recently got a new computer and wanted to use it for my in order to properly get the songs from my ipod onto the computer I used ipod agent at the recommendation of some of the ipod geeks at work...worked like a charm...because if you're not careful, the ipod will sync to your 'empty' computer and you will lose all the music! Hope this helps!
